Participants will be given a badge upon registration when they check in at the registration desk. The bagde must be worn at all times, only registered participants will be allowed to enter the Conference area.

The badges must also be worn at social events organized as part of the Conference.

The conference badge is the entrance ticket to all sessions. Only badge holders are admitted to the sessions.

The opening hours are 9.00 – 15.30 Monday – Friday.

Hotel check-in time is 15.00-24.00. If arriving after 18.00, please notify the Conference Secreatriat. Check-out time is at 11.00.

Personal or company cheques will not be accepted at the registration desks nor in shops in Bergen. Leading banks in Norway cash traveller’s cheques.

Credit cards
The major credit cards are accepted in most shops.

Informal summer dress is suitable for all occasions.

Electricity is 220 volts (50 HZ) and plugs are with the Northern European Standard two round pins. Most hotels provide 110 volt outlets for shavers.

Smoking is not permitted at the conference (this includes both the formal conference programme, exhibition and the social programme).

Tax-free shopping
Visitors from the countries outside of the European Union can reclaim VAT on goods purchased in tax-free shops when leaving the country, either at the airport or at the border.

Look for the tax-free sign in the shops, and remember to ask for the VAT reclaim form at purchase.

Time difference
The time in Norway is 1 hours ahead Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Visa requirements
All foreign visitors to Norway must proceed a passport valid for at least the next 3 months. Participants from most European countries can enter Norway without a visa. Citizens of other countries have to obtain a visa before entering Norway.

We recommend that you determine your personal status by contacting the Norwegian Embassy in your country as soon as possible.

Please note that the visa application procedure can take up to two months. A letter of invitation for this purpose can be sent on request by Conference Secretariat.

June is mostly sunny and warm. The average afternoon temperature is 15°C. However, it is advisable to bring clothes for cooler and rainy weather as well.
